Pizarro: Program shows effects of terrorism

The effects of worldwide terrorism will be the subject of a two-week program presented by Hillel of Silicon Valley this month.

"Inside Global Terrorism: From Personal Impacts to World Responses," will include demonstrations with bomb-sniffing dogs from Israel and speakers who will graphically describe the personal impact of terrorism.

But the most provocative aspect of the program will probably be "The X-Ray Project," a photography exhibit created by Diane Covert that uses actual X-rays and CT-scans to show the damage caused by bomb blasts. The X-ray images reveal nails and even a wristwatch that penetrated victims' bodies.

The free program starts Sunday and runs through Nov. 15 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library in downtown San Jose.

A schedule is available at the Hillel of Silicon Valley Web site (www.hillelsv.org). Call (408) 286-6669 for more information.
